what do you suppose is the significance of the hiker in the foreground? to give the tower scale, or to symbolize something? the center longitude of any composition is a pretty important area, even when it's not the intended focus.
the little fellow seems to be hiking out of a rather dismal, craggy area and into a sunny pastoral setting. could he be a dead man passing from this world into heaven? or maybe he's just plundered some treasure from the ruins, and angered the weather gods.
