Well you know I was a fan of the orginal draft. I actually waited to read your finsished draft once I knew it was going to be put in this publication. Excellent work. I love reading something that leave lingering images in my head after I have read it. This one still conjures up very slurping, sucking, images. Thanks for the read.

...I appreciate the input. All writers are a paranoid bunch, and this story came together very quickly. The additions and rewrites were done quickly, also. Sometimes, that leads to trouble. The end product was far from the original idea in terms of starting point, but the idea of the headless, living corpse stuck with me. I just had to figure out how to write this thing without giving away too much too soon.

The story may have come together quickly but it doesn't seem at all rushed. In fact, this is one of my favorite stories we've published. It manages to disclose a wealth of images and characters very vividly in a small space, has the interest of a past (which I always enjoy) and brings it all together with a deathbed confession and final confrontation. It's a fine piece of work.

...I thank one and all for the enjoyment that seemed to result from this tale.
The story seemed like it would entertain well, but authors are not always the best to judge.
