this is one of 2 poems i didn't hesitate to endorse once we received them. the tone of this one is intriguing to me, sort of urbane and earthy at the same time, wistfully morbid. i can't explain what i think of the twist ending without spoilage.. just see for yourself how the last 3 lines switch the lighting on the whole enchilada, metaphorically speaking.
